Ignition Replacement

A failed ignition switch replaced and, where possible, keyed to the key you already carry. Available across Delaware & Chester County PA and New Castle County DE.

When an ignition starts acting up, it usually shows itself at the worst time: the key won't turn, it sticks partway in, or the cylinder feels loose and unreliable. Around Glen Mills and the surrounding county roads, that can leave you stranded in a driveway, at a job site, or parked where you can't leave the vehicle alone for long. We come to the car, truck, or van and handle the repair where it sits, because that's the only place that matters when the ignition has failed.

We replace worn or damaged ignition switches and, where the vehicle allows it, key the new unit to the key you already use. That can save you the hassle of juggling a second key just for the ignition. If the lock cylinder is seized, broken, or mismatched from prior work, we can sort through what's needed and explain the options in plain terms before we start. We work on everyday passenger vehicles, work trucks, fleet vans, and older models that have seen plenty of use.

Ignition trouble often shows up after years of hard turning, a worn key, a bad cylinder, or internal switch parts that simply quit doing their job. Sometimes the key will still come out, but the vehicle won't recognize the turn. Sometimes the key won't go in cleanly at all. We deal with these problems every day across Delaware County, Chester County, and New Castle County, and we keep the work focused on getting the vehicle usable again without dragging you through extra steps. If the ignition is failing and you need the vehicle back in service, we can come to you and take it from there.

Each of these is a page written for that town, not a copy of this one.

How it works

How a call actually goes

  1. Get in touch

Ring us or send the details through the site. Either reaches the same person and gets the same answer.

  2. We scope the job

What kind of lock, what kind of door, what has already been attempted. Three questions, and we know what to bring.

  3. We arrive equipped

The right blanks, the right programmer, the right hardware. Turning up and then going away again helps nobody.

  4. You check it yourself

Try the key. Work the lock. Shut the door. If anything is not right we sort it there and then.

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer ignition replacement across all three counties?

Yes. Delaware County, PA, Chester County, PA, New Castle County, DE are all inside our regular service area.

Is this done on-site?

Yes. A failed ignition switch replaced and, where possible, keyed to the key you already carry. We work as a mobile service, so the van comes to the vehicle or the building rather than the other way round.

What information do you need from me?

Enough to bring the right thing. For vehicles that is the year, make and model plus whether any key still works. For a building it is the type of door and lock and what happens when you try it.

When can I reach you?

Sunday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed on Saturdays.
